My sources tell me that Anthony Stokes has been sold to Charlton Athletic for £2.7m. The 18 year old scored 16 in 18 matches for Falkirk but is surplus to requirements with an army of young strikers ahead of him at the Emirates.Apparently the transfer is waiting on Charlton selling a player or two.
Can I just add that this is astounding business by the club. That our youth system can develop players such as Anthony Stokes for sale to Premiership clubs for millions... without any impact whatsoever on the depth of the first team ... is absolutely amazing.
