Greatness beckons

This is a vital season for Robin Van Persie.

If you look at the stats from last season, our much talked about back 5 was actually our stongest feature... particularly in Europe. In fact, Arsenal suffered away from Highbury to a load of rubbish apparently "physical" sides in matches because the Gunners simply could not score. Van Persie must ease the burden on Henry to produce match winning strikes in these tough away matches.

Last season Fabregas made a step change in his impact for the club. Few would doubt that the 19 year old Spaniard is now world class. Van Persie can be the same.

Beyond the obvious talent that has motivated Henry to describe Van Persie as the most technically gifted player he's ever seen, what I like about RVP is his feisty demeanor and ferocity. Yes, this his got him into trouble in the past but this spirit, if harnessed correctly can enable RVP to find the 20-25 goals Gooners are expecting from him.
