Arsene Wenger has promised that any signings the club will make this summer will only be of the super, super class variety to add to the army of young talent he has assembled in recent years.
Presumably, this level of signing rises about the rather mundane world class signings usually made by more pedestrian clubs into the stratosphere of the prestige signing of players at the level of... who?
Debate has raged over what sort of player Wenger intends to sign who fits the super, super class.
There are few names that fit the description. Samuel Eto'o is one. Gianluigi Buffon is definitely another in the super, super class. Obviously both of these are dependant upon what happens with other players in their position at the club. I'm certain for instance that Arsenal will never employ both Jens Lehmann and Buffon at the same time. Arsene Wenger's economics degree would never allow it.
Lots of people were sceptical when Wenger promised two "world class" signings last summer. Sceptical until Thomas Rosicky and William Gallas (and a cool £5m) turned up at the Emirates (as well as Brazilan Internationals Julio Baptista and Denilson).
Has he now upped the ante to a new level? And more importantly will he (need to) deliver?

waah! im praying for buffon to join...wish he join. i'll die happily if he join gunners....
just afraid that his financial demand will corrupt arsenal...especially in contrast with economical view of wenger...
